Crete & Aegean Islands. Mercator/Hondius, Candia [on sheet with] I Corfu [and] Zante [and] Milo [and] Nicsia [and] Scarpanto, from Atlas Minor, 1610 (circa). Hand Color. Crisply engraved, reduced version of Mercator’s handsome map of Crete with small inset maps of the islands of Corfu, Zante, Milos, Naxos, and Scarpanto at top. It is decorated with a strapwork title cartouche and a moir patterned sea. Latin text on verso, published between 1610-21.
